At Dirty Vine, our selection of German wines may be small, but we believe it features some of the finest. One standout producer we’re excited to share is Peter Lauer. Located in the renowned Saar region of Mosel in northwest Germany, the Lauer family has been making exceptional Rieslings for five generations. They’ve been farming with organic practices and minimal cellar intervention, using traditional methods to create wines that truly reflect the land and the cellar—authentic in every sense.

Since 2006, Florian Lauer (5th generation) has been working alongside his father, Peter II, to produce a range of Rieslings that make our palate happy.

The Barrel X Riesling is a must-try. Off-dry with a touch of residual sugar, it’s the wine’s mineral freshness and juicy fruit that make it irresistible. If you’re new to Peter Lauer wines, this is the perfect introduction. This wine always makes us hungry. Like most Rieslings, it's a fantastic pairing for food. You can go either way with this one—open it for a cozy night in with some Thai takeout, or bring it to the park for an afternoon picnic with friends. The lower ABV makes it an excellent choice for an afternoon indulgence.
