Beaujolais-Villages 2023
Michele Smith, an accomplished American sommelier who honed her craft at some of New York’s finest restaurants, crossed paths with her future husband, David Chapel, while visitingDomaine Lapierre. After a few years together in New York, they both knew it was time to chase their dream: to make wine in France. And when it came to choosing a place, Beaujolais called to them. In 2015, they founded Domaine Chapel, and with it, their vision for crafting wines that reflect their love for the land. They released their first vintage in 2016.
The wines come from high-altitude plots nestled on the steep slopes of Beaujolais, where the focus is on low-intervention winemaking that respects both the land and the environment.
Their Beaujolais-Villages is a blend of select parcels from Lantignié and Régnié-Durette, with vines ranging from 40 to 50 years old. It's a wine that demands to be enjoyed with food—a sophisticated, yet effortlessly drinkable beauty.
