The Raffault family has been making wine in Chinon for five generations. Olga’s husband, Pierre, poured his heart into the vineyard until his sudden passing in 1947—just as the vines were promising what would become one of the greatest vintages of the century.

With two young kids and a harvest on the way, Olga stepped in to manage but never made the wines. Instead she had the help of Ernest Zeinninger, a former German prisoner who had been working on the estate since the end of the war. Today, her granddaughter Sylvie runs the show with her husband and son, keeping the family’s philosophy alive while adding their own thoughtful touch. This new generation of winemakers adds a touch of modernity. They believe the exchange between generations infuses their wines with a soulful quality, filled with wisdom and passion.
