Toit du Monde 2021

Baptiste Nayrand takes us to the Coteaux du Lyonnais, a small appellation on the outskirts of Lyon, nestled between Beaujolais and the Northern Rhône. If you enjoy natural wine, this is the place for you. Baptiste is a one-man operation, managing everything himself on his 6-hectare vineyard—the maximum area he can farm solo. Certified organic since 2014, when he launched his project, he also practices biodynamic methods to create a harmonious balance that is reflected in his wines.

The Toit du Monde comes from very old vines in Bibost, higher up in the hills. The grapes are hand-harvested and undergo semi-carbonic maceration, allowing the wine to showcase the vibrant fruit flavors of the Gamay. Baptiste never fines or filters his wines, maintaining their purity. Full of energy and freshness, this wine exemplifies his goal to craft exceptional natural wines—and we believe he's succeeding.

We prefer this wine served slightly chilled.
